HYDROPHOBIC |
What is a HYDROPHOBIC COATING? A Hydrophobic coating is a film that has the ability to repel water from whatever surface it is applied to. These products can be formulated as solvent based coatings, which have chemical and physical properties that are such that drops of water actually repel from the coating. Application: This coating can be made available in aerosol cans or in a liquid form for brush or spray applications. The products apply similarly to other thin, clear coatings such as varnishes. Appearance: When applied, the coating often produces a whitish film, which should dissipate upon drying. Cure Rate: Air dry: 10 to 30 minutes @ 77°F, 50% R.H. Film is “cured” when solvent has evaporated. End-use: This type of coating has been used by Satellite Dish manufactures to help prevent signal loss during heavy rainfall. The above technical data is accurate to the best of our knowledge. No warranty is expressed or implied as application methods and conditions and intended use is beyond our control. |
